The Hitching Post brings the spirit of American barbecue and grill culture to Dumfries. Established in 2020, our family‑run restaurant aims to offer the best of American dining in southwest Scotland. e specialise in barbecue and grilled classics cooked over an indoor barbecue pit using local red‑oak wood, which infuses steaks, ribs and seafood with a distinctive smoky aroma.Our menu caters to a wide range of tastes. Alongside hearty favourites such as rump steak, baby‑back ribs and burgers, we offer an extensive gluten‑free menu as well as vegetarian and vegan options.
